QAS is the visual reference for the line

Every recipe gets a QAS โ€” Visual Acceptance Specification: target shape, colour, size, surface texture, plus reference and defect photos. R&D signs it off and the sign-off is the visual reference for everyone downstream. It is not a gate on the approval workflow โ€” a recipe can move to Approved without it โ€” but it is strongly recommended for any recipe that will run regularly.

Open QAS

Sidebar โ†’ Quality & Production โ†’ ๐ŸŽฏ QAS โ€” Visual Spec. The landing list shows every recipe with a QAS status: Not started ยท Draft ยท Pending ยท Approved ยท Rejected ยท Bypassed. Sorted with unfilled ones first so the work-to-do is on top.

Role-specific notes
NPD: You author these. Be specific โ€” "Surface: smooth, no cracks visible" beats "looks good".
QA: You read these on the line as the visual reference for what passes and what gets rejected.
FACTORY: Operators check finished product against this spec.

Reference and defect photos

Two photo grids: Reference photos (correct product) and Defect photos (what to reject). Multi-upload supported, 5 MB cap each. Each photo gets a caption AND its own comments thread โ€” useful for QA / R&D / Factory to discuss specific defects without scrolling.

Sign-off

Bottom of the QAS page: โœ“ Sign off โ€” Approve QAS. R&D / Admin only. This stamps the spec as the official visual reference for the line. QAS sign-off is independent of the recipe approval workflow โ€” it can happen before or after the recipe moves to Approved, or be skipped entirely.

Role-specific notes
NPD: You sign off. You can also bypass with a reason โ€” try not to.
QA: You can read every QAS but R&D owns the sign-off.
FACTORY: You can't edit QAS but you can drop comments on photos when you spot a defect drift.
